The School of Art & Design believes that the best teachers of the arts are accomplished artists themselves.
Requirements
* Each candidate must complete a major in the subject area to be taught i.e.
art, together with 30 credits in professional education courses.
* All candidates must also complete a full semester of student teaching.
* To be admitted into this program, applicants must have the recommendation
of their major division, a 2.75 cumulative grade point average, and a 3.00 average
in ED 230 and ED 341.
All Art Education candidates must fulfill the following course requirements:
Sophomore
ED 230 Psychological Foundations of Education
ED 341 Social Foundations of Education
Junior Year
ED 404 Diagnostic and Remediation Tech. in Reading
Senior Year
ED 489 Current Methods in Special Subjects (taken semester prior to student
teaching).
