The program in art education, which leads to the Bachelor of Science degree, requires a total of 123 credits and is designed to educate professional teachers art for the public and private schools who are also competent, creative artists.
The program meets all requirements of the Ohio Board of Education to qualify its University-recommended students for PreK-12 Art Specialist Licensure to teach art in the public schools of Ohio and over 40 reciprocating states.
This program is conducted jointly by Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Art. Admission requires application to Case Western Reserve and submission of an art portfolio to the Cleveland Institute of Art. Credentials must be acceptable to both institutions.
