Prerequisites for Admission to the BFA Programs
1. Freshman and sophomore students will follow the Bachelor Arts Program, completing the Art History Core: ARTS 101 and ARTS 102 for 6 units; and the lower-division Foundation Studio requirements: ARTS 122, ARTS 123, ARTS 125,and ARTS 126 for 12 units. (Requirements are slightly different for those applying to the Option in Interior Design; see below.)
2. Before you apply, all lower-division requirements must be satisfied or in progress.
3. A grade point average of at least 3.0 in all art course work is required.
Note: While not a prerequisite, students are advised to complete 9 units in the Department of Art Art History prior to applying for admission to the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program.
