Calvin College Bachelor degree Asian studies
The Asian Studies curriculum is coordinated by the David and Shirley Hubers Asian Studies Program, an interdisciplinary program made up of several faculty members in various departments. The program offers major degree.
The Major in Asian Studies consists of three tracks - CHINESE LANGUAGE, JAPANESE LANGUAGE and AREA STUDIES. The Calvin semester in China (STCH 203 and 204) may substitute for History 245 or 246 and Philosophy 225. The semester program at the Japan Center for Michigan Universities, because its curriculum varies somewhat from year to year, may substitute for such courses as may be decided appropriate by the Asian Studies advisor and the Committee for the Asian Studies Major.
