The Alderson-Broaddus College Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) provides educational opportunities to prepare qualified undergraduate students for a career as an entry-level certified athletic trainer. The Athletic Training Education Program is structured according to competencies provided by the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) and the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program is committed to providing structured didactic and clinical experiences to enhance the athletic training student's knowledge of and appreciation for the profession.
The underlying philosophy of the Athletic Training Education Program corresponds with that of our host institution. We seek to prepare students with a comprehensive liberal arts education aimed at promoting better personal, social, spiritual, cultural, and mental adjustments. The faculty and athletic training students are expected to maintain the highest standards of quality consistent with the National Athletic Trainer's Association Code of Ethics.
