Purpose and Career Objectives
* Students electing this course of study are typically preparing for graduate
study in cellular molecular biology or careers within the vast diversity
of professions dealing with human or animal health and disease. The immediate
goal of students earning this degree is often acceptance into graduate or professional
school for further specialized training. The degree track is therefore designed
to be a rigorous and global introduction to concepts and biological disciplines
that students will later encounter in graduate training. Inquiry based, hands-on
laboratory experiences foster a deep understanding of biology and to provide
opportunities to acquire skills and techniques essential to success in the health
sciences.
* Recommended for students interested in professional or postgraduate programs
in cellular molecular biology.
