The Biomedical Engineers program at CUA prepares our students for this evolving field by teaching them how to apply core engineering principles to invent and advance technologies necessary for diagnosing medical conditions, assisting with rehabilitation and improving the lives of people with disabilities and/or chronic illness.
Our program offers students unique opportunities to work in nationally renowned laboratories in the greater D.C area. These include the FDA, National Institutes of Health, National Rehabilitation Hospital, and many more.
For students interested in both engineering and medicine, the premed track enables them to complete all premed requirements while obtaining a bachelor's degree biomedical engineering... in just four years. By providing a solid foundation in engineering and medicine, as well as expert guidance through the medical school application process, our program has established an excellent track record of placing students into top-rated medical schools.
