The Department of Biomedical Sciences strives to provide an unparalleled educational experience for undergraduate students pursuing careers in, or related to, biomedical research and health care services. Our graduates receive a curriculum rarely offered at the undergraduate level at other colleges and universities:
An impressive background in human-oriented biomedical science courses such as Biochemistry, Histology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, and Genetics.
An excellent liberal arts education through core university courses such as History, Anthropology, and English.
A fundamental understanding of the natural sciences through a wide variety of courses including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
Our undergraduates work on independent research projects with faculty skilled in mentoring young scientists. Faculty and students in the Department of Biomedical Sciences use state-of-the-art techniques in microscopy, computer imaging, electrophysiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to investigate important problems in biomedicine.
In accordance with Drew's mission, the Biomedical Sciences program challenges its students to become leaders in their field and in society. Strong ethical values are fostered and developed. Service to the community is an integral part of the program.
