What kind of work does a Corporate Communications Graduate do?
The Bachelor of Science Degree program in Corporate Communications is intended to train students in business-oriented communications. Several courses are offered in Public Relations. Other courses include Events Planning and Internal Communications. Advanced courses in this concentration, coupled with required courses in Communications, enables the student to enter a corporate setting with substantial knowledge regarding how to write, advising how to best promote the interests of the business through communications, how to deal with public relations crises and the legal parameters of a business insofar as public relations and advertising are concerned. Students in this degree could capably work in government public affairs offices, public relations agencies, trade association public relations, non-profit agency public relations, corporate public relations offices as well as many other related areas.
Admissions Requirements
Applicants entering the Corporate Communications Bachelor's Program should possess at least a 2.0 GPA (C average) with recommended preparation or requirements that include:
a solid background in oral and written communications
a strong familiarity with personal computer operation, especially as regards business and graphics software
