The Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) undergraduate degree program is designed to prepare graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to effectively apply various business principles and tools in an organizational setting. The BSB foundation is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practical application, while examining the areas of accounting, critical thinking and decision-making, finance, business law, management, marketing, organizational behavior, research and evaluation, and technology. Students are required to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the undergraduate business curricula through an integrated topics course. Special emphasis is placed on critical business threads throughout the program, which include: globalization, innovation, ethics, technology, diversity, and e-business.
The information systems major is designed to help the student acquire theory, skills, and values associated with a business environment that has an increasing dependence on information technology. The focus of the curriculum is business with an emphasis in information systems. Completion of the BSB/IS can be used to enhance career growth or as a segue into a graduate program.
This undergraduate degree program has a 60 credit Required Course of Study: 34 credits are allocated to the Bachelor of Science in Business foundation and 21 credits are allocated to the Information Systems major. Select courses have prerequisite requirements. In addition to the Required Course of Study, students must satisfy General Education and Elective requirements to meet the 120 (124 for Kansas) semester-credit minimums required for completion of the degree.
