A major in chemistry-geology is offered jointly by the Department of Chemical Sciences and the Department of Earth Sciences. This program is designed to prepare students for graduate school and professional employment in geochemistry and geology. Careers in these fields may involve environmental consulting, petroleum, mineral and groundwater exploration or research in geochronology,mineralogy, crystallography and oceanography. This major is particularly suited to students interested in chemical or geological oceanography.
