In order to earn a major in chemistry and become certified in secondary education, you must take at least 45 semester hours in chemistry.

Chemistry Requirements:

The 45 hours in chemistry must include the introductory chemistry sequence CHEM 1211 and 1212 and CHEM 2810 (Quantitative Analysis). The remaining hours are listed below:

* CHEM 3411 and 3412 (Organic Chemistry I and II)
* CHEM 3721 (Physical Chemistry I)
* CHEM 3810 (Advanced Organic Chemistry)
* CHEM 3820 (Laboratory Management and Safety)
* CHEM 4210 (Advanced Inorganic Chemistry)
* CHEM 4551 and 4552 (Biochemistry I and II)
* CHEM 4840 (Instrumental Analysis)
