The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology has excellent facilities: state-of-the-art laboratories, extensive instrumentation, a wonderful library, and well-maintained teaching facilities, all housed in a seven-building complex near Harvard Square in Cambridge.
The people here are the feature we're most proud of. The community of faculty, post-docs, graduate students, undergraduates, and staff make Harvard a terrific place to learn, teach, and perform research in the chemical sciences. We have active research programs in organic, physical, inorganic, theoretical chemistry, and in chemical biology and chemical physics, with particularly exciting work being done at the interfaces between research areas.
