The undergraduate civil engineering program provides a solid base in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering fundamentals, and design and management concepts, as well as the social sciences and humanities. In addition to courses in civil engineering subdisciplines, the civil engineering curriculum covers design practices, information technology, technical communications, project management, and engineering ethics. Preparation for high level professional practice is emphasized.

Participation in internships, volunteer activities, professional organizations, or cooperative education opportunities is highly recommended to enhance practical training and development. Graduates who go on for advanced studies are prepared for higher level technical responsibilities and can attain more responsible positions with the possibility of rising to top professional levels.
