School Location
Communication majors focus on the construction and production of messages in diverse media. Core courses explore theories and practices of communication. Majors also choose an area of concentration from one of three tracks: Media Studies and Production; Journalism and Professional Writing; and Corporate Communication. The program integrates research, analysis and creative production.

Requirements – 45 credits distributed as follows:

  • Communication Core Requirements (18 credits)
          COMU 110 Introduction to Communication
          COMU 251 Mass Media and Society
          COMU 253 Public Speaking
          COMU 310 Theories and Research Methods
          COMU 351 Seminar in Communication and Technology
          COMU 401 Internship

    Choose one of the following tracks:

  • Media Studies and Production (12 credits)
  • Communication (12 credits)
  • Journalism and Professional Writing (12 credits)
