The Comparative Literature program gives students the opportunity to explore the interaction between literary works of different language and national traditions from as cross-cultural perspective. It utilizes and integrates literary theory and criticism to address fundamental questions about the purpose, nature, and value of literature in global contexts. Students electing this major are exposed to textual analyses and concepts of literature that allow them not only to study the interrelationship of literature from two ro more cultures, but they can also examine literary texts in relation to other media and disciplines.
