DePaul's program in early childhood education leads to a Bachelor of Science degree and certification for working with infants through third grade. Emphasizing real-life experiences beginning in the first year, the curriculum calls for students to work with infants and toddlers, as well as with children in kindergarten and primary grades. Field experience takes place at nearby St. Vincent DePaul Day Care Center as well as at several other sites, including public and private schools, parent-child co-op and corporate child care centers.
