The mission of the Early Childhood Studies program is to prepare professionals who are qualified to work with all young children and their families. To accomplish this mission, the program blends two fields of study, Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Special Education. The goal of the department is to develop professionals who are knowledgeable in the science of child development and learning, reflective in their practice, and unbiased in their approach to working with all young children and their families. The vision of the Early Childhood Studies program is to aid in the development of inclusive programs for all young children, in schools and in the community.
