Courses applied to guided electives must be relevant to the student’s educational or career goals, must be offered by the College of Arts and Sciences, and must be approved by the student’s advisor or by the Head of the Department of Language and Literature. These must be 3000-level or 4000-level courses, and three must have prefixes other than ENGL, e.g., HIST or CMS.
