An Interior Design Concentration in the Bachelor of Science Degree Program through the Department of Family & Consumer Sciences provides today's design industry with professionals skilled in creating life-enriching environments, for a variety of situations. Both a major and a minor are available under the interior design concentration.
We strive to develop excellence in leadership, design, aesthetic, technical, and communication skills among tomorrow's design professionals. In-depth study of design is made possible with dedicated lecture and studio classrooms, computer labs, an extensive catalog and sample collection, and dedicated workstations for advanced students.
Educational Opportunities:
Faculty from a variety of backgrounds and academic departments provide diversity and contribute expertise in Art, Interior Design and Textiles. Practicing professionals contribute their expertise by teaching advanced design courses. Student exposure to national and international cultural experiences is gained through field trips to world exhibitions in Atlanta, Chicago and High Point, N. C.
Career Opportunities:
Graduates from the interior design program are employed in
full-service design and architectural firms specializing in either residential design or commercial design.
