The Gerontology major at Alfred University offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the aging process and the new challenges society faces as the proportion of the population aged sixty-five or above steadily increases. The student majoring in Gerontology studies psychological, social, political, and biological aspects of aging. The major also provides for the application of classroom knowledge to real-life situations through a supervised internship. Participating
faculty members are drawn from the Psychology, Biology, Sociology and Political Science divisions.
