The Ethics, Politics Society is a more structured humanities option encompasses moral philosophy, political or social philosophy, religion, and applied or professional ethics. Thinking globally requires that we learn to think morally, or ethically, about our own actions and about the actions, policies, and institutions of the communities to which we belong. It also demands that we try to understand the ethical perspectives and moral traditions of other societies. The need for people to develop capacities for moral reasoning and inter-cultural ethical understanding grows even more urgent in our increasingly globalized world. Additionally, there is a rising demand, today, for ethical and cultural literacy in workplaces and professional settings. In addition to two interdisciplinary seminars, students may choose 24 credits of courses in philosophy, history, literature, gender studies, communication and media studies, psychology, political science, and sociology.
