The Law and Society major is an interdisciplinary major that includes the study of law as an academic discipline — which is very different from the professional study of law — in close relationship with critical issues in society. The program of study is intended primarily to attract students who are drawn to (a) public service at some level of government; (b) public service with non-profit or public assistance organizations; or (c) graduate studies in the Social Sciences or Liberal Arts.
