From birth to age 8, responsive early childhood education influences the formation of the individual for life. The Child, Family and Society concentration weaves a cohesive understanding of child development, family systems and social contexts to prepare culturally competent care‐givers and educators. Successful completion of the BA degree with a concentration in Child, Family and Society, will empower candidates as early childhood educators.
The following are course requirements for students in the Child, Family and Society concentration. The general studies component of this degree should prepare students to think critically from many perspectives so they may better function in their chosen field.
