Track II: Applied
The second track leads toward immediate employment or further study in applied
mathematics or a related area. In addition to the foundation requirements, students
must take
* Math 360: Mathematical Modeling or Math 326: Operations Research
* Math 331: Real Analysis or Math 335: Abstract Algebra
* Two of the following courses:
o Math 309: Mathematical Statistics
o Math 310: Applied Mathematical Statistics
o Math 316: Numerical Analysis
o Math 326: Operations Research
o Math 331: Real Analysis
o Math 335: Abstract Algebra
o Math 342: Geometry
o Math 360: Mathematical Modeling
o Math 380: Mathematical Physics
o Math 389: Selected Topics
o CS 352: Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis
o CS 358: Foundations of Computing
Students in this track should also take advanced course work in an area of
application.
