The Mechanical Engineering Technology automation concentration builds a comprehensive specialty in machine and process automation. Coursework contains a wide base of critical competencies in automation, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, actuators, mechanical design and system integration. The automation concentration is a direct result of input by the MMET Department's Industrial Advisory Board. A new automation teaching laboratory has been developed, providing a home for both MMET classes and industry training short courses.
