Averett's biology department offers a major in medical technology. The program includes three years of college work and one year of clinical instruction and practice at a teaching hospital.
Approved by the Board of Registry of Medical Technology and the American Association of Clinical Pathologists, the program offers a Bachelor of Science degree through an affiliation with AHC/King's Daughter's Hospital, Fishersville, Va. Students may also have the opportunity to attend other accredited hospital programs.
