Making a difference in someone's life is a truly special opportunity. Perhaps one person's influence has sparked your desire to become a teacher? Many consider education to emulate that special teacher who turned them on to learning.
At Champlain, we want to build those special teachers of tomorrow—creative, empathetic, passionate and well prepared leaders who will make a difference in their students' lives.
Students interested in certification for middle school English teaching will focus on literature, writing and drama courses. Those pursuing certification for middle school social studies will take history and contemporary world issues courses.
Middle level licensure requires two (18 credit minimum) minors. In Champlain's Middle School Teacher Education program, you will dual minor in English and history. This degree prepares you for a license to teach in two discipline areas at the middle level (grades 5-9).
Program Highlights
