Boston University Bachelor degree Modern Foreign Language and Literature: Students entering with advanced (300-level) knowledge of one or more European languages may combine the study of one European national literature with coursework in literary studies. Students must complete a minimum of seven courses (three in the literature of the concentration and four in other literatures) at Boston University

Students participating in Boston University programs abroad must complete a minimum of four principal courses on the Boston campus; students must take two of these four courses at the 400 level or above on their return from studying abroad. Students choosing this concentration must receive prior approval from an advisor and from the director of upper-level curriculum.

Prerequisite- Any 300-level (advanced) language course.

Required Courses- Thirteen courses are required:

-CAS LL 250, 251
-four courses in continental European literature from the following: CAS LL 200 level or higher
-any five upper-level (300-, 400-, 500-level) literature courses in the principal language
-two related courses chosen in consultation with the advisor and the director of Upper Level Curriculum

Students may choose one of the following:

Concentration in French Continental European Literatures (1122)
Concentration in German and Continental European Literatures (1123)
Concentration in Italian and Continental European Literatures (1124)
Concentration in Russian and Continental European Literatures (1126)
Concentration in Hispanic and Continental European Literatures (1125)x
