Two new emphases have been added to the Geology degree program: Petroleum Exploration and Petroleum Operations. Classes began Fall 2008 with GSCI 200 Physical Geology as the first core course. This is the same required beginning core course for all of our degree emphasis options (Traditional, Environmental, Paleontology, Technical, Petroleum Exploration, and Petroleum Operations). Students will then take GSCI 202 Historical Geology in the Spring 2009 term. The first petroleum geology specific core classes will be offered in the Fall of 2009.
