Admission to the Program
New freshmen and transfer students are admitted through the university's Admissions
Office. Students currently enrolled in the university who wish to transfer into
the Department of Government or develop a double major or minor should have
a grade point average of 2.50 or higher and the approval of the undergraduate
academic adviser.
University Requirements
* A total of 120 credit hours
* 6 credit hours of college writing
* 3 credit hours of college mathematics or the equivalent by examination
General Education Requirements
A total of 30 credit hours, consisting of one foundation course and one second-level
course in an approved sequence from each of the five curricular areas.
No more than 6 credit hours maybe taken in the same discipline.
Major Requirements
A total of 58 credit hours with grades of C or better.
NO course being counted toward a Political Science degree may be taken Pass/Fail.
All course taken for the Political Science degree MUST be taken as a letter
grade.

* STAT-202 Basic Statistics (4) (also meets university math requirement)
One of the following International Studies courses:
o SIS-105 World Politics 3:1 (3)
o SIS-110 Beyond Sovereignty 3:1 (3)
o SIS-381 Foreign Policies of the Great Powers (3)
o SIS-382 The Analysis of United States Foreign Policy (3)
One of the following Research Methods courses:
o ECON-322 Introduction to Econometrics (3)
