The major in psychology may be completed in one of two tracks, the Core and the Core-Plus tracks. The Core track is intended for those students who do not plan to pursue graduate study in Psychology. The Core-Plus track is designed to prepare students for post-graduate work, particularly in Psychology and related disciplines. It provides both greater breadth and depth of training plus experience with psychological research and practical applications of psychology. The Core track will fulfill the admission requirements of many excellent graduate programs. However, the Core-Plus track should enhance a student=s attractiveness to various graduate programs while better preparing them for a successful transition to graduate study. Students are encouraged to work closely with their advisor in their preparation for graduate school.
