We offer a comprehensive curriculum designed to produce outstanding Public Relations graduates who are not only equipped with the tools to enter the profession, but who are also endowed with the critical knowledge based skills vital for success in the Public Relations world.
Students in the Public Relations program are exposed to all areas of Public Relations and will take courses that involve research, case studies, strategic planning, campaign execution, creativity, photography, media writing and editing, marketing, and computers. The highlight of the program is the Public Relations Campaigns course, which requires students to produce a real-life campaign that utilizes the knowledge they have acquired in class. Students work with actual clients in the South Florida area and engage in client meetings, strategic planning and creativity to produce this campaign. Most importantly, the final product of this campaign is an integral part of each student’s portfolio and becomes a calling card for any Public Relations job he/she is pursuing.
Another special feature of this program is its small classes and extensive interaction with faculty.
Our location in South Florida allows students to explore internships with Public Relations agencies and opportunities in the area. All of our undergraduates are required to complete an internship as part of their curriculum. This fortifies them with valuable real world experience prior to entering the workplace.
