The Real Estate curriculum is designed to prepare students for many different careers in real estate as well as give them specialized training in real estate appraisal, investment analysis of income-producing property, real estate finance, real estate law, and property management. As part of the coursework for the Real Estate major, students will be required to attend an 8-hour, out-of-class training session on ARGUS Financial Analysis, the real estate industry's leading property analysis software. Effective January 1, 2006, satisfactory completion of RE 3405 (Principles of Real Estate), RE 4220/4221 (Real Estate Law of Agency and Contracts), and one other Real Estate course will qualify an individual to take the Texas real estate sales license examination administered by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC).
