The goals of the Social Relations program are threefold. First, to provide students with a broad liberal education. Second, to prepare students for graduate study in diverse fields, such as sociology, criminal justice, law, and social work. Third, to give students the knowledge base and skills necessary to pursue careers in law, law enforcement, social work, post-secondary education, and related fields. Majors in Social Relations take a common set of core courses including Introductory Sociology and Anthropology, Research Methods, and Statistics. Students then choose a concentration in either Sociology or Criminal Justice and take a further selection of courses specific to those disciplines.
