The Community Studies concentration in Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Community Studies will actively engage students in community organization and civic participation. By combining the traditional classroom setting with service-learning and community service internships, students will obtain the conceptual tools and practical field experiences necessary for civic leadership and active participation in democratic communities. Students will also gain experience in grant writing and will work with Castleton’s Stafford Center for the Support and Study of the Community.
