Harvard University Bachelor degree Special Concentrations
Special Concentrations exists for the student who wishes to meet special educational objectives that cannot be fulfilled within the confines of a regular department. The option for petitioning for a Special Concentration was established for the student whose academic interests cross departmental lines. Students may design their own program of concentration with the advice and consent of faculty and administration. It is by no means intended to encourage students to create a broad, unfocused concentration that could be described as "General Studies" or to avoid departmental requirements.
