The Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art provides an opportunity for a broad study of art and prepares students for careers as professional artists and teachers. This major provides breadth and a sound foundation in several fine-art studio disciplines. After enrolling in a series of introductory courses, students select an area of concentration as: Printmaking.
Printmaking
At the introductory level, printmaking students study the four basic printmaking areas: intaglio, stone lithography, relief and screenprinting. Students also study original contemporary and old master prints.
As students progress through the curriculum, they advance to new processes, techniques and materials, including: monotypes, collographys, chine collé, multicolor printing, and papermaking. In the advanced courses, students are encouraged to explore and experiment with other process of historical and contemporary interest.
