OVERVIEW OF THE MAJOR IN THEATRE
The Department of Communication and Theatre Arts offers Bachelor Arts degree Theatre Education. Required courses introduce the student to the various areas of theatrical arts: design/tech, performance, dramaturgy, history and criticism, and theatre pedagogy. The B.A. in Theatre Education does not require a minor. The program of study provides a balance between technical, performance, and dramaturgical areas of theatre.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEATRE MAJORS
Many of our students find employment throughout the country as actors, directors, stage managers, designers, and theatre educators. Students are given many opportunities at Fairmont State University that will prepare them for the entertainment industry, to be educators or to pursue careers in other fields.
