Why should I choose the theatre arts major?
Theatre is a major worth exploring if you seek to build a creative, fulfilling career in fields ranging from acting, directing, and theatre production to academia, advertising, television, and film. With a curriculum that combines a strong theoretical foundation with extensive experience-based learning opportunities, Flagler's theatre arts majors gain skill in performance, stage technology, scene design, writing, and directing, as well as a thorough grounding in the history and literature of theatre.
What does the program at Flagler offer?
In addition to course work, Flagler theatre majors also discover many opportunities to participate in departmental, community, and professional performances that are held in Flagler's 800-seat auditorium. Flagler graduates go on to pursue successful careers in acting, directing, designing, and/or technical theatre. In addition, students who choose the education/theatre curriculum also graduate with the skills and the knowledge they need to become educators; the program is approved by the State of Florida for teacher certification on the secondary level.
