The Visual Art program at Carroll College gives students basic training in various media, opportunites for visual expression, and greater appreciation for visual arts. Classes provide quality instruction that challenges students and simultaneously encourages success for those with minimal exposure. Expanding appreciation of visual arts and enhancing lives through creative experiences are the overriding goals of the Art Department.
As a service department there is no degree or minor in Visual Art at Carroll. However minors in both Combined Arts Arts Management have recently been added. We offer classes in Ceramics, Drawing, Acrylic Painting, Watercolor Painting, Introduction to Art, Art Appreciation and Photography. There are independent study and practicum opportunities for those interested. Students can study with artists from the internationally acclaimed Archie Bray Foundation, work at the Holter Museum of Art or participate in internship and cooperative education opportunities.
