The Department has the following goals, objectives and expected outcomes for its Bachelor of Fine Arts program:
Students will obtain and apply a knowledge of literary history and forms from a diversity of theoretical and cultural perspectives.
Students will read, think, and write critically in the methodologies of literary inquiry.
Students will acquire and implement skills in information literacy.
Students will develop and revise their writing with the goal of creating a body of original work in poetry, fiction, non-fiction or drama.
Students admitted to the Bachelor of Fine Arts program in writing, literature and publishing must complete 56 credits in departmental offerings for the degree.
