Bachelor degrees in Adult Development and Aging: A program that focuses on the characteristics of aging populations and the needs of older individuals in family and institutional settings. Includes instruction in the biological and psychological stages of aging; the provision of dependent care; serving the social, economic, and psychological needs of aging adults; related public policy issues; and adult community resources.
In our program, once you've taken our introductory ALD 101 course, you can dive right into working directly with older adults via our three 1-credit Field Placement classes. You can then choose from a wide variety of elective courses, completing your degree with a Capstone course where you engage in research on an aging issue, or serve an internship in an aging-related organization....
Communication majors focus on the construction and production of messages in diverse media. Core courses explore theories and practices of communication. Majors also choose an area of concentration from one of three tracks: Media Studies and Production; Journalism and Professional Writing; and Corporate Communication.
