Art Education students major in Art, and minor in Education. You‘ll have two academic advisors – one in Art and one in Education – to make sure you meet the University‘s academic requirements, as well as those required for Teaching Certification.
The Art major provides students with a choice of an Art Education emphasis. The objectives are as follows:
1) gain a basic understanding of two- and three-dimensional design;
2) explore media, techniques, and ideas in several art areas;
3) develop an understanding of the mediums, techniques and ideas of artists in one area;
4) gain general understanding of art of western and non-western cultures.
