Bachelor degrees in Arts Management: A program that prepares individuals to organize and manage art organizations, operations, and facilities. Includes instruction in business and financial management; marketing and fundraising; personnel management and labor relations; event promotion and management; public relations and arts advocacy; arts law; and applications to specific arts activities such as galleries, museums, studios, foundations, and community organizations.
The Arts Management program is designed to develop not only creative abilities and awareness in the fine arts areas but also business management skills to allow students to pursue careers in performance and institution management. Some of these careers may include operating art galleries and museums, managing groups and concert halls, and managing theatrical companies. This program leads to the Bachelor Arts degree.
This degree is offered in conjunction with the Adrian College Business Department and prepares students for a career in music-related administration or marketing. This degree includes a student internship with local non-profit music and/or theatre organizations.
* Studio electives in THEA, DANC, MUSC, ART, 24 credits
* Theory electives, 7-8 credits
Studio and Theory electives should be chosen in consultation with advisor to form a unified curriculum in Performance. At least 12 credits in studio electives should be taken in Performing Arts.
Senior exhibitions are not required for Fine Arts majors. Students who choose this option will exhibit their work in The Brick Studios.
