Bachelor degrees in Music, General: A general program that focuses on the introductory study and appreciation of music and the performing arts. Includes instruction in music, dance, and other performing arts media.
This major, leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree, is offered by the Music
Department for students who are particularly interested in graduate study in
some phase of the art or in private teaching, and who wish to concentrate
their efforts on achieving a high performance level on their applied instrument or voice.

Quality music is a cherished tradition at Alderson-Broaddus College. An excellent academic program in applied music, music education, and musical arts is balanced with an outstanding performance record by A-B's many musical groups. All A-B students, regardless of their academic major, are encouraged to participate in one or more of the College's music programs.
The Bachelor of Arts in Musical Arts provides a degree in music in combination with another field of study.
There are two options for completion of requirements beyond music courses:
1. Students may fulfill the requirements of any second major EXCEPT those offered by the Music Department. (Note: This option will generally take more than eight semesters to complete.)
