There are two options for completion of requirements beyond music courses: Allegheny College Allegheny College The major program in Music leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and requires the completion of 48 semester hours of coursework including: 12 semester hours of music theory (Music 189, 288, 289, and 386); 12 semester hours of music history (Music 184, 286, 287, 384); 16 semester hours of ensemble participation and applied music at the 400-level on student's principal instrument (either 10 semester hours in Music 430-479 and 6 semester hours... Music 500 is a senior project and may take the form of a recital, research paper or other department-approved project.
