The Department of Music at Adams State College offers two degree programs:
The Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and the Bachelor of Arts in Music. The course requirements for each degree are designed to be completed in four years.
The degree, Bachelor of Arts in Music (Emphasis in Performance), is a liberal
arts degree with additional study in music literature and performance.
Adrian College offers a Bachelor Music in Performance.The degree is designed to prepare candidates for a professional career in music or for continued studies at the graduate level.
Candidates in B.M. (Performance) must pass the piano proficiency exam prior to graduation. Music Education candidates must pass the piano proficiency exam before their student teaching commences.

Music with a Performance Concentration is a non-teaching option for music majors with exceptional talent on their instrument or with their voice. Students must audition for the faculty before acceptance. Junior and Senior recitals are required.
Themusic major with performance emphasis is for students who intend to
pursue a career in music as a private music teacher, church musician or performer
or those who desire to enter graduate school.
Students should begin their study by enrolling in the following courses in
the fall of their first year: Music 101 & 101L (1 unit), an applied music
