Bachelor degrees in Printing Management: A program that prepares individuals to apply technical and managerial knowledge and skills to the processes and procedures of managing printing operations from initial design through finished product distribution. Includes instruction in the principles of graphic communications design and production; quality control; printing operations management; computerization; printing plant management; business finance and marketing; logistics and distribution; personnel supervision and leadership; and professional standards in the graphic communications industry.
Print Communications stresses the conventions of writing for the various media and provides skills in news and magazine writing, editing, technical writing and creative writing.
A 12-hour block of specialization courses creates a mini curriculum in electronic print. Topics include electronic layout and design, graphic arts technologies, offset and gravure printing technologies, and commercial photography.
Graphic Design is a multidisciplinary program in which students gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals of design and develop creative visualization, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Using industrystandard software and hardware, students build diverse portfolios with a wide range of print and Web projects. The global, social, and ethical issues of graphic design are explored at each stage of the program.
