Women's Studies is intended to increase a student's knowledge, interest and appreciation of the needs, contributions, problems and aspirations of women-and also of the way that gender shapes the lives of both women and men. Many students choose Women's Studies as a second major to complement their first, or primary, major. Double majors say their first major defines the field in which they work. The Bachelor of Arts in Women‘s Studies requires a minimum of 120 units which includes courses for the major, General Education, all university requirements, and free electives.
